Issue 34 Cover Feature Michelle Taylor Willis

Where did your passion for media derive?

Michelle:

I have always wanted to be in front of the camera for as long as I can remember. As a 6th grader, I created a talk show where I was the host, talent, and audience. My bedroom was the tv studio! Talk about manifesting! Of course, as a 6th grader, I had no clue what manifestation was; I just knew that I was destined to be on someone's screen. I dreamt that someone would come up to me and say, "You're the person for my next film project!"

Michelle:

I didn't plan my media career; I just fell into this space. My journey into media started almost eight years ago when I bought SoFu Lifestyle Magazine, formerly South Fulton Lifestyle. Once I bought the magazine, the media doors began opening. Shortly after acquiring my magazine, I got into radio, billboards, and tv. Through my media experiences, I recognized the power of ownership of content and mediums and the more significant influence of providing advertising to audiences through those owned platforms.

What's the last thing you would like our readers to remember you by?

Michelle:

I want readers to recognize and remember me as an award-winning media executive, influencer, author, and actress. These are the roles that I hold near and dear to my heart. I will continue to make my mark in these spaces and couple it with advocacy by giving back to my community, the one that raised me (Duval County) and the one that made me (South Fulton County).
